Introduction
Baritone Waltteri Torikka has established himself as one of the most beloved opera singers of his generation in Finland. Torikka is known for his versatile repertoire and is at home in concert halls and opera houses alike. Torikka is a sought-after orchestral soloist, having appeared as a soloist with the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Jyväskylä Symphony, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Deutsche Radio Philharmonie.
At the Mikkeli Music Festival concert, Waltteri Torikka will perform with the Mikkeli City Orchestra in the Mikkeli Parish Church. The concert's repertoire includes works ranging from baroque and cantata repertoire by composers J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach and G.F. Händel, as well as new string arrangements of Oskar Merikanto's delicate songs, especially created for this concert.
