Introduction
The ethereal concert of dreams will feature lieder music from across Europe, including French masters Claude Debussy and Francis Poulenc.
Iris Candelaria, winner of the Lappeenranta Song Contest 2023, has had a career on the rise in recent years. She has been heard in roles such as Pamina in the Magic Flute at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and as Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Adele in Lepako at the Finnish National Opera. Candelaria is also one of the two sopranos selected for the National Opera's Young Singers Programme 2023, giving her major roles in productions such as The Carmelite Archangels, Simon Boccanegra and The Fall of the Gods.
Pianist, arranger and composer Jukka Nykänen needs no introduction. His pianism has been performed at all the major music festivals in Finland, and classical music audiences will also recognise him as the pianist expert for Yle Teema's RSO concert series and from his work with conductor Ville Matvejeff at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
The concert's duration will be announced later.
