The premiere of Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony received a huge round of applause, which reportedly lasted longer than the composition itself. It is still one of the composer's most popular compositions. The symphony has also been regarded as a critique of Soviet totalitarianism. Sibelius's violin concerto is interpreted by Inmo Yang, the recent winner of the Sibelius Violin Competition.
