Introduction

"I really enjoyed building this concert programme for the string principals of Prilharmonia Orchestra, starting with one player and growing in size by adding colleagues as the repertoire requires. Each of the composers has given us music to explore that isn’t necessarily the most commonly played on the concert platform, but still absolute gems!

It gives us a freedom to play something new and develops us as musicians, but also gives the audience something different, a freedom of listening. Yes, they are all female composers and that’s a topic on its own, but not actually my primary focus! In our concert music is the freedom, from life that ticks by, but to also immerse oneself in a different world of sounds and listening." -cellist Louisa Tuck
