Introduction
Welcome to an unforgettable musical journey with the London Philharmonia Orchestra!
The Brahms & Schumann concert will kick off the Philharmonia’s guest concerts at Mikkeli Music Festival. The London Star Orchestra is one of the world's most distinguished symphony orchestras, rarely heard in Finland.
In the first concert, the Philharmonia's charismatic Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali will lead the audience into the enchanting world of music from the Romantic era, with music by Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann. The concert will include Johannes Brahms' Violin Concerto and Robert Schumann's Symphony No 3.
The soloist will be the virtuoso young Swedish violinist Ava Bahari, who in recent years has risen to become a soloist with top international orchestras at the Hans Eisler Music Academy in Berlin. Bahari has won prizes at the Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa and the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition in Zion.
