Marjukka Tepponen is a Finnish soprano who has captivated audiences and critics alike with her charisma on Finnish and international opera arenas. She sang her debut at the Jyväskylä Opera as La Traviata's Violetta (2008) and since then she has been a regular guest at regional operas, Savonlinna Opera Festival as well as the Finnish National Opera.
Tepponen made her international debut in the role of Mimí in La Bohémen (2010) in Graz opera. Her most notable roles include Mimí in Puccini's La Bohéme and Líu in Puccini's Turandot, Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosí fan tutte and Tatjana in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, which she also sang at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the spring of 2022.
Tepponen is also known as an active concert singer, both in classical and lighter music. She has recorded several albums and opera recordings such as Gounod's Faust (Naxos, 2019).
