Lilja Haatainen

Violin

Lilja Haatainen is a promising young violinist who was born in Kempele in 2011 and is now living in Porvoo. Lilja was three and a half years old when she started playing the violin using the suzuki method, and at the age of six she continued her studies at the Oulu Conservatory. She is currently studying at the Porvoonseudun musiikkiopisto Music School Janne Malmivaara as her teacher and at the Viuluakatemia Academy under the guidance of Janne Malmivaara and Elina Vähälä.

Lilja has played as a soloist with the Oulu Sinfonia, the Lappeenranta City Orchestra, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Finnish Chamber Orchestra and the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra. In the beginning of 2022, Lilja won the series for young violinists of the Jyväskylä violin competition and in October 2022,  she was awarded first prize in the Louis Spohr International Competition for Young Violinists in Germany.
