Johan Krogius

Tenor Johan Krogius (b. 1998) has done his professional studies at the Helsinki Conservatory, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Stockholm University of the Arts and the Berlin State Opera's Young Singers' Degree Programme. In 2021, Krogius won the Timo Mustakallio Singing Competition and the Helsinki Lied Competition Youth Series.

The roles of Krogius have included for instance: L'incoronazione di Poppea: 1st Soldier (Monteverdi), Idomeneo: Priest of Neptune, Trojan (Mozart), Magic Flute: Tamino (Mozart), Fidelio: Jaquino (Beethoven), Aida: A Messenger (Verdi), The Merry Widow: Camille (Lehár).

Since 2022 Krogius has been attached to the Berlin State Opera’s International Opera Studio. In the summer of 2024, Krogius will perform in Finland at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in the role of Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni and in the role of Ismaele in Verdi's Nabucco. In the upcoming season 2024-2025 Krogius will perform, for instance, with the FRSO and in Joonas Kokkonen’s opera The Last Temptations at Tampere Opera.
