The Brass Academy is a brass ensemble for talented young musicians. Its members are goal-oriented young players from all over Finland who aspire to professional careers in music. The academy’s activities support their weekly instrumental studies by providing 6–8 training weekends annually. Vaskiakatemia has previously performed in cities such as Lahti, at the Lieksa Brass Week, and in the Riihimäki Summer Concerts.
The Brass Academy operated between 2012 and 2015 and was relaunched in 2023 with the support of the Finnish Cultural Foundation and the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation. The academy is part of the Association of Instrument Academies, which supports and develops the most talented children and young people in Finland within their respective age groups. In addition to the Brass Academy, the Association includes the String Academy and the Youth Piano Academy.
