Aleksi Sarkkinen (b. 2013) began his piano studies in 2022 at the Espoo Music Institute under the tuition of Rebekka Angervo. Prior to this, he had played the piano actively at home with strong self-motivation for about two years.

In a short period of time, Aleksi has completed studies in accordance with the advanced syllabus for basic education in the arts. He has performed in numerous concerts and, despite his young age, has achieved success in several piano competitions.

In September 2025, he won first prize in the national Tapiola Piano Competition in Category II (12–15-year-olds). In June 2025, he was awarded second prize at the international ”Città di San Donà di Piave” Piano Competition in Italy in Category B (11–12-year-olds). In January 2025, he placed second in the national Leevi Madetoja Competition in the under-13 category, and in December 2024, he received third prize in the national Juvenalia Chamber Music Competition in the under-13 piano duo category.
